CFK is a bridge organization that provides clear pathways for churches, groups and individuals to support youth in foster care. We focus on creating relational connections that provide systems of support for each child in care.
As a trusted partner of the Mecklenburg County Department of Social Services, CFK has direct access to meet the needs of foster youth through our four pathways:
We recruit and train foster parents.
We train people how to provide wrap-around support to the foster families in their communities.
We recruit and train mentors for older youth in foster care through our Weekend Miracles mentoring program.
We recruit Socialight volunteers to support and encourage front-line Child Welfare social workers.
We recruit general volunteers to support special projects and events throughout the year.
We mobilize financial partners to continue and expand our programming.
We meet regular tangible needs for youth in foster care through gift-in-kind donations.
