Summer is the perfect time for kids to explore, learn, and have fun—and several local camps are opening their doors with special discounts just for kids in foster care. These camps offer everything from outdoor adventures to arts and STEM programs, all in a supportive and inclusive environment.

Below you’ll find some great opportunities for kids to make new friends, build confidence, and create lasting memories—without the financial stress!

Free Membership & Camp Discounts for Foster Families

Families with a foster child placement can attach their placement letter to their application and will automatically get approved for our top tier level of discounts for their foster child. Each family is automatically granted a free family membership to the greenway and is eligible to receive discounts for the other programs that we offer, not just camps.

50% Off Art Camps for Kids in Care (Ages 10 & Under)

Siblings will receive the siblings discount. To register for this, please call the location of your choice to request. This is available at all locations.

 
 
 
 

Overnight Camp for Youth in Foster Care (Ages 8–18)

Camp will be held in Boomer, North Carolina at Camp Harrison during August 5-8th. The cost if $25 for caregivers and they are responsible for dropping their children off and picking them up at the camp.

Reduced-Rate Day Camp for Kids in Care

Covenant Day School is offering summer camp for kids in foster care at a reduced rate of $200.

Four unique sessions are available:

  • June 16–20

  • June 23–27

  • July 7–11

  • July 14–18.

    Camps run from 9 AM to 4 PM, with before care (7:30 AM - 9 AM) and after care (4 PM - 5:30 PM) options available included in the price. These sessions include both Roar Camp and Camp Lion, designed to be fun, safe, and engaging for all kids.
