‘It’s Good to Play’ Car Kits
It’s Good to Play kits were created to support social workers and the kids in their care during car rides to and from visits, appointments, and other required travel. Many social workers spend long hours transporting children in foster care, and these kits are designed to help ease distress, reduce boredom, and bring moments of comfort and connection along the way.
Comfort Kits
In Mecklenburg County, just seven pediatric nurses care for every child entering foster care - often meeting them on one of the hardest days of their lives.
When asked how we could help, they shared a simple need: small comfort items. Things like stuffed animals and fidget toys can ease fear, build trust, and help children feel safe in those first critical moments.
