Thank you for your interest in joining our Socialight program.

Read below to find out more about the ways you can get involed today!

Program Overview

The Socialight program was designed to provide radical hospitality, encouragement, and support for frontline child welfare professionals as they navigate the complexities of secondary trauma and impossibly difficult circumstances in their day to day.

Those interested in serving through our Socialight program can sign up to be part of our Socialight Team or be paired 1x1 with a social worker to provide spiritual encouragement and support through prayer as a Socialight Prayer Partner.

SOCIALIGHT TEAM MEMBER

Socialight team members will have the opportunity to serve collectively throughout the year by writing thank you cards, helping host events, preparing gift baskets and treats, delivering fun goodies to social workers at their office, and so much more! The CFK team will reach out with monthly volunteer opportunities to engage and you can choose what fits your schedule. Occasionally, there will be opportunities for you to engage right from the comfort of your own home. We do ask for Socialight team members to commit to providing 6 hours of volunteer service per year (tracked by CFK). You can accumulate these hours through a variety of serve events and opportunities and even by providing donations when needed.

Socialight Prayer Partner

For those who come from a faith background, we would like to invite you to consider becoming a Socialight Prayer Partner. You will be paired with a social worker who has specifically requested the support of a prayer partner. By signing up for this role, you are committing to reach out to and connect with your social worker at least once a month to check-in and ask about specific things you can be praying for in their day to day. You will be encouraged to connect via text, phone or email and have the opportunity to provide spiritual encouragement as appropriate. This role does not have any in-person requirements.

Commitment

As a Socialight team member or Socialight prayer partner, our desire is for you to provide encouragement and support for your social worker(s) through the remainder of this calendar year. At the end of each year you will have the opportunity to renew your commitment or step down from the program.

My Socialights have been such a blessing to me. They touch not only my heart but my soul with their words of inspiration during times that I have felt overwhelmed. They bring a smile to me as I read their sweet notes and remember what’s important.
