Thank you for your interest in joining our Socialight program.
Read below to find out more about the ways you can get involed today!
Program Overview
The Socialight program was designed to provide radical hospitality, encouragement, and support for frontline child welfare professionals and volunteer advocates as they navigate the complexities of secondary trauma and impossibly difficult circumstances in their day to day.
Those interested in serving through our Socialight program can sign up to be part of our Socialight Team.
SOCIALIGHT TEAM MEMBER
Socialight team members will have the opportunity to serve collectively throughout the year by writing thank you cards, helping host events, preparing gift baskets and treats, delivering fun goodies to social workers at their office, and so much more! The CFK team will reach out with monthly volunteer opportunities to engage and you can choose what fits your schedule. Occasionally, there will be opportunities for you to engage right from the comfort of your own home. We do ask for Socialight team members to commit to providing 6 hours of volunteer service per year. You can accumulate these hours through a variety of serve events and opportunities and even by providing donations when needed.
Commitment
As a Socialight team member, our desire is for you to provide encouragement and support for social worker(s) and advocates through the remainder of this calendar year. At the end of each year you will have the opportunity to renew your commitment or step down from the program.
PRAYER SUPPORT FOR SOCIAL WORKERS and advocates
For those who come from a faith background, we would like to invite you to consider joining our CFK Prayer Team. By signing up, you will be invited to pray for social workers and advocates by name who submit monthly prayer requests.
“Foster children with one social worker achieve
permanency, on average, 74.5% of the time
and only 17.5% of the time when there
is social worker turnover.”
“My Socialights have been such a blessing to me. They touch not only my heart but my soul with their words of inspiration during times that I have felt overwhelmed. They bring a smile to me as I read their sweet notes and remember what’s important. ”
